Personality:

Oh goodness. Upon first looking at this guy, someone will be bound to say “Jeez, what an asshole.” And really, they wouldn't be too far off. Donovan is one of those types of people that pushes the boundaries of the rules and finds loopholes to suit his purposes. However, his intentions are, at their core, very pure. He believes that everyone is planning something dubious, and bringing those thoughts to light is paramount when it comes to improving as a person. So, if he can see you, he's judging you, and he's judging you harshly. He has an incredibly strict sense of justice, though he's more than willing to bend things when it comes to his own actions. Despite his terribly judgmental mindset, Donny is very capable of trusting people, so long as they show a deep understanding of their thoughts and actions. He's a rather social person on the rare occasion when he's not second-guessing everyone around him. But most of the time, he's closer to surly and paranoid.

Overall, though, he's a giant friggin' hypocrite. He judges people for being schemers, when he himself is cruel, cunning, and unnecessarily paranoid. Despite the fact that he's got a rather black-and-white morality, he sees his own as justifying endless shades of gray. But he'll deny any such accusations you throw at him, and then he'll bite back. Donny has a nasty temper that he doesn't care to control, and he's got no problem with stepping on toes and being a complete asshat if it gets his point across.

And on top of all of his negative traits, there's an unending amount of self-assured cockiness. He's right and he's sure of it. He'll prove you wrong, even if he has to cheat to do so.

History:

Orphaned from birth (paradox space is weird, yo), Donovan spent his early years in an orphanage. However, he was a problem child, and was almost constantly acting out. When he got sent to a boarding school and military academy, though, that all changed, at least on the surface. Donny matured as a boy who had an impossibly strict upbringing, not at all helped by the fact that one of the drill instructors took a shine to him, and eventually adopted him. Through that, he gained a perverted sense of morals that was only buffered by his intense physical training and increased ability to get away with intimidation and subterfuge.
